For the Day a Home Begins

Ketubot

A ketubah by Liza Maman is more than a marriage document — it is a hand-made work of art that stands beneath the chuppah and then lives on the wall of the couple's home, a lasting sign of their covenant. Bilingual Hebrew–English texts, with space for the personal details to be completed at the wedding, beside the witnesses and the rabbi.

Gilded Ketubah — bilingual ketubah with gold dots and a gilded Star of David
The Gilded Ketubah

"I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine"

The ketubah opens with the beloved verse from the Song of Songs (6:3) — a symbol of deep love, loyalty and mutuality. Around the bilingual text, a halo of delicate gold dots lends luxury and guardianship, and at the centre rests a gilded Star of David, laid in gold leaf, honouring Jewish tradition.

Written in precise nib calligraphy with kosher ink on 300gsm cold-pressed cotton paper. After the celebration, the ketubah is made to hang in the couple's home.
